After staying at Curtin Springs for the Rock viewing headed off to Alice Springs. This is where the trouble started. Denis found a cut in one of my front tyres so had to shop around for a replacement. $339.00 for one tyre!
 Finally on the way from Alice and get attacked by a mad Kangaroo, Launched itself off the top of the rocks straight into the side of my caravan. Managed to miss the windows but took out the awning and dented the outside cladding almost full length as well as pushing in the inner wall and breaking the cladding there. Thank God for insurance.
 Made it from Alice to Three Ways without any more excitement. $12 for unpowered site there. We decided to turn right and head for Qld instead of going to Darwin.
Stopped for a bit of free camping at Camooweal Lagoon. Very nice spot. lots of birds and good camp spots by the lagoon. No amenities. Estimate at least 25 vans/Motor homes there when we got in.
 On to Mount Isa. From Isa we took the Bourke Development Road toward Normanton, were unable to get a spot at Burke & Wills Roadhouse we bush camped just off the highway.
 Off to Normanton where we stayed for a couple of days. A day trip to Karumba, have now seen the Gulf Of Carpentaria.
